What to do now...

Once you have paid your deposit you should gather all of the information together to send to Dreamkatcha.

Firstly you should decide on the page tittles for your pages.

An example to this for a 5 page website would be:

HOME
ABOUT US
SERVICES
SHOP
CONTACT

Next you will need to create a document to input all of your content. This should be either NOTEPAD/TEXT EDIT or PAGES/WORD.

This should resemble the following:

HOME

Welcome to my company, based in my town. My company specialises in supplying great SEO content for my entire website that will help it rank well in search engines such as google. blah blah blah

You should try to write your content using these guidelines This is not essential but will certainly help your rankings if that is a factor in your marketing strategy for your website. You should do this for every page of your website. You should then spellcheck and finalise all text ready to be copied into your website.

Once this is completed you should source any imagery that is to populate your website. If you would like Dreamkatcha to purchase these images for you, you just need to write a description as to what is required. If you wish to purchase the images or have taken them on a camera, then please send them in a zipped (compressed) folder and attached to the final email. These should be separated into each page and then zipped. So all pages on the homepage should be gathered together (most computers will zip files by simply selecting them all and then clicking your right mouse button and choosing to create a zipped folder for the images. This will make them smaller to send via email and prevent corruption in transit.

You should change the name of each image file to describe what is in the picture. So for the image at the top of this page, you would name the file “Man-drawing-a-website-sitemap-on-a-whiteboard.jpg”. Use hyphens instead of spaces. Naming your files like this will not only help me understand what photo goes where, it will also help your SEO massively. If the image is of a product in your online store, make sure you name them item like this: “Product-name-Colour-main-shot.jpg”. This will also help me place them ion the website in the correct place and order.,

When choosing your images, you must imagine them on the website in their allocated place. This will help you decide what format they will be in. For example; if you wanted an image as a header/banner across the top of your website – you will need to make sure most of the content is displayed horizontally. This is because the top and bottom of a square image would need to be chopped off in order for it to just take up the top of the viewed page. A full width image should measure no less than 1200 pixels. Most images taking up half a page will need to be no less than 600 pixels.

So this is what your final text document should look like:

HOME

HEADER IMAGE:

“Man-drawing-a-website-sitemap-on-a-whiteboard.jpg”
